Please note that shorter running times on PAL video releases are due to format conversion issues, and they are not edited releases. I live in Australia and have never come across the film in any video shop, nor seen any evidence indicating that it was released by an Australian video distributor. Robotech the Movie

The first video release of this film anywhere in the world (in English at least). It was only released for a short time and wasn't re-issued like the majority of "Robotech" video releases in the UK.

Another VHS release in English, but this time with Dutch subtitles and released in Belgium.

Robotech the Movie

Possibly the only Laserdisc of this film ever released. This Laserdisc contains the original English dub of the film with Dutch subtitles. The disc was also released in Belgium. The company that released it, Cascar Video, was the "B-movie" video label for Phillips Home Video in the Netherlands.

Megazone 23 Part II Overseas Edition (English Language Study Package)

This video tape contains the mid 1980's Harmony Gold English dub of "Megazone 23 Part II" with Japanese subtitles and may contain the 10 minute ending of "Robotech the movie". Apparently there were many English language study package containing dubs of anime, and came in packages with study books. I've seen one such package for "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato", and I know other similar packages exist. If anybody can give me more information on this set or if it contains the "Robotech the movie" footage, please email me.

Megazone 23 Part II Overseas Edition & Part I Special Film

This video tape contains the mid 1980's Harmony Gold English dub of "Megazone 23 Part II" with Japanese subtitles and the 10 minute ending of "Robotech the movie" as a bonus. The additional footage is subtitled "Present For You", and only contains background music, some narration in English about "Megazone 23 Part 1", but no dialogue or music from "Robotech the movie".

Same as the VHS version, this laserdisc contains the mid 1980's Harmony Gold English dub of "Megazone 23 Part II" with Japanese subtitles and the 10 minute ending of "Robotech the movie" as a bonus. This bonus DVD was only available if you pre-ordered any of the Atlus DVD re-releases of "Megazone 23" DVDs. This DVD contains the mid 1980's Harmony Gold English dub of "Megazone 23 Part II" with Japanese subtitles and the 10 minute ending of "Robotech the movie" as a bonus. The additional footage is subtitled "Present For You", and only contains background music, some narration in English about "Megazone 23 Part 1", but no dialogue or music from "Robotech the movie".

Megazone 23: Blue Garland Limited Edition

As part of the limited edition Playstation 3 game, "Megazone 23: Blue Garland", a bonus DVD of the English version of "Megazone 23 Part II" came as a bonus. The DVD contains the mid 1980's Harmony Gold English dub of "Megazone 23 Part II" with Japanese subtitles and the 10 minute ending of "Robotech the movie" as a bonus. The additional footage is subtitled "Present For You", and only contains background music, some narration in English about "Megazone 23 Part 1", but no dialogue or music from "Robotech the movie". Please note this DVD version of "Megazone 23 Part II" is heavily edited with all gore, violence and the sex scene removed.

The Japanese and US storyboards are strikingly different from each other. The Japanese storyboards can be seen in the Animatic. Interestingly no actual footage from the alternate ending or any "Megazone 23" footage is on this disc. Instead the footage presented in the music video and TV commercial is from "Southern Cross", the Japanese series which comprised the "Masters" saga of the "Robotech" TV series. The movie's end credit song "The Future is Now" can be heard on the disc's menu. This box set also comes in an alternate cover limited 2000 units, which was only sold at WalMart stores in the US.
